Gigabyte has leaked information about the upcoming mid-range series of NVIDIA RTX 40 graphics cards. It has been revealed that there will be at least two models in the upcoming RTX 40 update, which is set to be released next quarter.
Gigabyte is so confident in their info on the RTX 4070/4060 that they have added support for two unannounced SKUs in their software. The Gigabyte Control Center is the main application used for managing their motherboards and graphics cards, allowing users to adjust fan speeds, control lighting, implement overclocking, and manage the built-in screen. The latest version, “23.03.02.01,” includes support for two upcoming graphics cards that have yet to be released: the Gigabyte RTX 4070 AERO OC 12GB (GV-N4070AERO OC-12G) and the Gigabyte RTX 4060 GAMING OC 8GB (GV-N4060GAMING OC-8GD).
Gigabyte’s product codes are easily understandable, so this is the first confirmation from a board partner about the memory configuration of the RTX 4060 graphics card. As the rumors had suggested, the card is expected to have a capacity of 8GB. The12GB RTX 4070 should not be surprising too. NVIDIA is expected to announce the RTX 4070 non-Ti on April 12th and launch it on the following day. There is no release date yet for the RTX 4060 series, but board partners anticipate that both SKUs will be available in May at the earliest.
