Installation
Installing the Icy Dock MB994SP is very simple. As with any hardware installation, turn off your computer and power supply prior to installing anything.
First, remove the unit from the bubble wrap. Then, remove a bay cover and the side of your case. Slide it into the 5.25” bay that you’ve opened, and then proceed to screw the rack into the bay with the provided screws. Depending on your case, you may need to use all eight screws, or like me, you may only need to use four.
Once you’ve done that, you need to install a drive into a hotswap bay. Press on the tab to the left of the bay. The device will unlock. Then you can simply pull it out.
Get your 2.5” drive and insert it into the hotswap bay. Turn it over and you’ll see four screw holes. Secure your drive with the provided drive-mounting screws, or use your own if you prefer, and if your hard drive manufacturer provided them.
Once you’ve done this, reinsert the hotswap bay and lock it by closing the clip.
Move to the side of your case and have 2x molex power and as many SATA connection cables as you have drives installed ready. Connect the drives and power connections as so.
Close your case, and you’re done!
