IKEA To Provide Affordable Gaming Furniture, In Partnership With ASUS ROG

The AR furniture App and the smart home division hints about Ikea already penetrating the tech market. The company has expanded its operation in the tech market by entering a new category, PC gaming. IKEA will create a lineup of 30 affordable products in partnership with ASUS Republic of Gamers (ROG).

The IKEA product development Centre in Shanghai will develop the product range. IKEA says that its designers held workshops with ROG designers and professional gamers to add perfection to the home gaming furniture

The company wrote that it aims to create an exceptional gaming experience by combining its home furnishing knowledge and ROGs expertise. IKEA has mentioned that they will design affordable gaming furniture accessories, but the products are not specified yet. We think that it could be gaming desks or chairs.

“By teaming up with ROG, IKEA wants to combine its home furnishing knowledge with ROG’s expertise in creating exceptional gaming experience.”

Logitech recently teamed up with Herman Miller for a gaming chair hence proving that IKEA and ROG aren’t the first ones for a partnership like this. However, IKEA might take a different approach in terms of aesthetics. The company said that it views gaming as “cross-demographic,” so the furniture designs can fuse with the other decoration and furniture. The range will launch in China in February 2021 and available in the USA and elsewhere by October 2021.
