Some of you might have been expecting a Core i9-9900K launch today, but it is not happening. To us it seemed way too soon, especially since we haven’t really seen that many leaks. A new Intel roadmap has been leaked to the web showing that the i9-9900K, i7-9700K, and i5-9600K will be launched in October.
So we will see the 8-core / 16-thread Core i9-9900K, 8-core / 8-thread Core i7-9700K, and 6-core / 6-thread Core i5-9600K all launched in October, with the rest of the “Coffee Lake” refresh happening in Q1 of 2019.
The roadmap also lists a Basin Falls refresh that is planned for October. These chips will be the successors to the Skylake-X and Kaby Lake-X processors on the X299 platform. No details are available yet, but the roadmap does say up to 18-core at 165W.
