Intel Prepping Core i9-9700K With 8 Cores and 16 Threads

It is pretty crazy to think that just about a year ago the Core i7-7700K was launched as Intel’s flagship mainstream desktop processor. This was of course a quad-core processor. Then not that long ago Intel launched the i7-8700K, which brought the core count up to 6. The i7-8700K sits as Intel’s flagship in the mainstream series. Now it looks like Intel’s Core i9 Series will make it to the mainstream as well.

The new flagship could be the Intel Core i9-9700K. This processor could pack in 8 cores and 16 threads on the very small 10nm Cannon Lake CPU architecture. Now we should expect the Core i9-9700K to have moderate clock speeds, but where it really is going to shine is multi-tasking with its 8-cores and 16-threads compared to the i7-8700K’s 6-core, 12-thread configuration.
