Intel Rocket Lake processors may go up to 5 GHz, shows new benchmark leak

Intel is currently working on its next generation of chips. While the CPU giant might have announced a delay in its 7nm plans, it still has the next generation of CPUs on track. Intel’s next-gen Rocket Lake chip has been spotted in a leaked benchmark now, giving us an idea about the clock speeds.

Rocket Lake will be Intel’s 11th generation of chips, based on the 14nm process. One of the Rocket Lake chips was recently spotted being tested on Geekbench. While previously spotted engineering samples have reported clock speeds of between 4.1 to 4.3 GHz, this new benchmark showed the chip going to as high as 4.98 GHz. Take a look:

Rocket Lake will not be making a jump in the fabrication process but will be based on a new architecture. The higher boost clocks combined with that will mean better performance. Intel is expected to reveal these chips by the end of 2020, or the beginning of 2021.
