Intel announced their 10th generation Comet Lake-S desktop processors last week. There were a total of 22 SKUs, well 32 if you count the energy efficient “T” models. For those looking to get their hands on something like the $157 6-core, 12-thread Core i5-10400F at $157 it will not be available in the first way of releases. It appear that Intel will be doing a staggered release of Comet Lake-S desktop processors.
The first wave of processors available for purchase will only be the unlocked “K” SKUs. This includes the 6-core/12-thread Core i5-10600K at $262, the 8-core/16-thread Core i7-10700K at $374, and the flagship 10-core/20-thread Core i9-10900K at $488. These three SKUs will be available in markets within May 2020. So if you were looking to pick up a non-K CPU you might have to wait a little longer.
