Out of all of the leaks we have covered on Apple’s upcoming iPhone’s today’s leak has got to be the most revealing. Both new iPhones – the iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C have been pictured along the current flagship iPhone 5. This gives us the first alleged look at the upcoming iPhones.
The phones in the images are dummy demo devices, but they do indicate that Apple is leaving the screen size at 4-inches. The dimensions are a little bit larger than the iPhone 5 though. So if you were expecting a larger screen on the iPhone 5S you are going to be a little disappointed.
Now according to PhoneArena the iPhone 5S will include a 12-megapixel camera with f/2.0 aperture, improved front-camera, fingerprint sensor that doubles as the home button and NFC connectivity.
For the 5C according to KGI analyst Mingchi Kuo the 5C will be replacing the iPhone 5 instead of the 4S. This will be the first time Apple won’t be offering its older iPhone at a discounted price after its replaced by the newest iteration. So if that is true the iPhone 5 will reach end of life in Q3 2013, while the 4S will be kept in the lineup for emerging markets.
Also if you thought the 5C would be cheap you might be wrong. Also according to Kuo the 5C will cost anywhere between $400 and $500 (without contract), while PhoneArena has sources that says it will be even higher at $555 (without contract). If this is true then this would reaffirm the speculation that the 5C is actually geared toward customization rather than a low cost iPhone.
Of course this is all speculations and rumors but we will know soon enough as Apple’s iPhone event is scheduled for September 10th.
