Kingston Unveils HyperX Cloud 2 Gaming Headset

Kingston’s original HyperX Cloud gaming headset was a huge success. It actually received a perfect 10 out of 10 score when we reviewed it! Well Kingston is following up the HyperX Cloud with the HyperX Cloud 2. We were able to take a closer look at it during CES 2015.

The major update to the HyperX Cloud is that the new version will have 7.1 virtual surround sound, so this is actually a USB headset. The heatset has the same overall design with the memory foam headband and ear cushions. The headset will ship with both velour and leather ear cushions.

The headset also will come with an in-line controller that allows you to adjust the volume for both the headset and microphone. You can actually unplug the headset from the in-line controller and use the headset as a stereo headset say with a mobile device. The in-line controller also lights up as you can see in the photo below.

The HyperX Cloud 2 gaming headset will have the same price as the original headset at $99 and Kingston will be offering it in black, black / red and white / pink (limited edition). Expect to see this headset become available in early February and stay tuned as we will be reviewing the headset.
