Final Thoughts
There is a lot to like about the Lexar NM800 Pro drive. Lexar teaming the Innogrit Ranier NVMe 8-channel controller with 176-layer TLC NAND is going to give you incredibly fast speeds of 7500 MB/s read and 6300 MB/s write for the 1TB version that we reviewed. In our tests the drive performed close if not right up to those specifications. Now if you did want to get a little more speed you could opt for the 2TB version which is going to get you up to 6500 MB/s. With this type of performance the NM800 Pro is very competitive against many other recently released Gen4 drives.
Like most Gen4 drives these days Lexar will be offering the drive in both a heatsink and non-heatsink version. While we only had the chance to take a look at the non-heatsink version, the heatsink version does like quite nice and it is fully compatible with PlayStation 5.
Lexar has also given this drive a pretty high endurance rating of 1000TBW / 1.5 million hours MTBF and is backing it up with a 5-year warranty.
Currently the 1TB version of the drive is only selling for $109.99 on Amazon, which makes it about $20 cheaper than the WD Black SN850X and a whole $40 cheaper than the SK hynix Platinum P41! Overall ThinkComputers gives the Lexar NM800 Pro Solid State Drive a 9 out of 10 score.

Pros:
– Great overall performance
– Available in both heatsink & non-heatsink versions
– High endurance rating
– Price
Cons:
– Speeds get slower as you go down in capacity
