MicroShell Folio Overview
The reason I really liked the MicroShell Folio was that it was both a hard shell case and a folio case. We received the black version of the case, but it is also available in pink, purple, orange and silver. The top part of the case is a polyurethane folio lid with a microfiber interior. This will keep your screen from getting scratched.

The microfiber actually continues into the case so it also will protect the backside of the Kindle as well. The back part of the case is a solid polycarbonate shell. This will provide great protection, even if you were to drop your Kindle Fire. There are openings in the back for the two speakers and an elastic strap to hold the folio cover on the front of the kindle.

There are openings on the bottom and on the side for all of your connections and access to buttons.

Installation & Usage
Installation of your Kindle Fire HD into the MicroShell Folio is extremely easy and should not take more than 5-10 seconds to install. Refer to our video review below for step by step installation instructions.
Once you have your Kindle in the MicroShell Folio you will realize that it really does not add much size to the Kindle at all. That was a big thing that I was worried about. I really like the Kindle Fire HD because of how small it is so I did not want a case that made it overly large. When you have the folio part of the case closed you can use the elastic band on the back to hold it in place. This is great if you have your Kindle in a backpack where the folio part might get folded back.

One of the best features of this case is that you can fold the folio part back and use it as a stand. This means no more holding your Kindle up or setting up against something. While there is no real angle adjustment it is sure nice having a stand!

When you have your Kindle installed in the case you don’t have to worry about connecting any cables or accessing the buttons because the openings in the case give you access to everything.
