MSI displays its first consumer PCIe Gen5 storage at CES 2023. Today, The new Spatium M570 SSD series, which has PCIe Gen5 compatibility, is being unveiled for the first time at this event.
MSI is planning two SSDs: Spatium M570 and M570 Pro, with the latter being the quicker of the two based on its name. The Pro model utilizes Micron 232-layer NAND chips and Phison’s most recent M26 controller. Although the non-Pro has the same controller, its memory is TLC-based.
MSI displays two SSDs with distinct heatsink designs. The official report suggests that the M570 Pro can write at a speed of 10 GB/s while reading at 12 GB/s. The speed of the non-Pro version should be limited to 10 GB/s. MSI is providing a live demonstration of the M570 Pro at CES, showcasing that it has a read speed of 12324 MB/s and a write speed of 11814 MB/s. This speed was tested using the 2TB version of Crystal Disk Mark. The motherboard used in the testing was an MSI X670E Carbon, and the processor was a Ryzen 9 7950X.
The company also demonstrated the storage utilizing the most recent Raider GE78HX system with 13th Generation Core HX CPU where the read speed was nearly the same (12301 MB/s); however, the write speed was slower at 8972 MB/s. Both drives are expected to go on sale in Q2 2023 and come in 1TB, 2TB, and 4TB capacities, according to MSI. However, pricing information is unavailable from MSI.
