MSI Claw Gets Massive Performance Updates With Intel’s New Drivers

The Claw has already experienced reductions in price of up to 25% from its initial cost. However, it struggles to compete with AMD-powered handhelds, which boast superior performance and are frequently available at lower price points. The Claw operates on Intel architecture, utilizing the Meteor Lake processor paired with built-in Arc Alchemist graphics. Although these graphics represent a significant improvement over previous Xe-LP GPUs, they still fall short of matching the capabilities of RDNA3 in low-power systems.

MSI is actively enhancing its handheld device to provide a more seamless experience and improved performance. They’ve rolled out a new BIOS, dubbed “106,” which not only facilitates smoother updates but also eliminates the need for USB flash drives, a feature that’s becoming increasingly essential for portable gaming devices. The company has not disclosed any additional changes at this time.

MSI is now delighted to unveil Intel’s latest Arc GPU driver capability, which, as you may recall, brings remarkable performance enhancements across numerous DX11 games. The 101.5445 driver is essentially an enhanced and WHQL-certified iteration of that driver, featuring optimizations specifically tailored for Manor Lords.

FPS charts scaled

MSI asserts that the Claw provides “smooth play” in the top 100 most popular games on Steam. With the new driver, gamers can anticipate up to a 150% improvement in titles like 7 Days To Die, or a 50% boost in performance for games such as Cyberpunk 2077 or Monster Hunter World.

Moreover, MSI is releasing their recommended game settings, which are applicable across most games where feasible:

●User Scenario: Extreme Performance
●In-game Resolution: Full HD (1920*1080)
●In-game Graphic Quality: Low
●XeSS (Xe Super Sampling): Performance (if available)
●V-Sync: OFF
●FPS Limitation: OFF
