MSI MAG COREFROZR AA13 CPU Cooler Overview

As I mentioned the MAG COREFROZR AA13 is an entry-level cooler so as expected it is not all that large. The official dimensions with the fan attached are 152mm x 121mm x 73.5mm, so this cooler is going to be ideal for more compact cases that would have strict height restrictions for air coolers. The cooler and fan are all black, but there is also a white version available.

Starting at the front of the cooler we have our fan, which is a 120mm MSI CycloBlade7 fan. This fan spins between 510 and 2070 RPM with a max air flow of 62.6 CFM, static pressure of 2.36 mmH2O, and a max noise level of 30.11 dBA. The fan does have rubber in the corners to cut down on vibration noise.

Taking a look at the cooler from the side we can see that it is a single-tower, single-fan cooler and that the actual tower is pretty thin. MSI is making us of an aluminum heatsink tower that is made up of 50 fins.

Coming up from the base of the cooler are going to be your four 6mm-thick copper heatpipes. These go up into the heatsink tower in a “U” fashion, which is quite standard for coolers like this. These are direct-touch heatpipes so they are actually going to make direct contact with your CPU. This means that the base of this cooler is essentially the heatpipes. We can also see that MSI has pre-applied the thermal paste, which I feel is just fine for an entry level cooler.

Finally as we take a look at the top of the cooler we find an MSI dragon logo on the top of the heatsink.
