Final Thoughts on the MSI MAG Pano 120R PZ PC Case

Over the past couple of years I’ve been quite impressed with MSI cases. The cases that I had the chance to look at were quite functional, looked great, and were very affordable. When it comes to the MAG Pano 120R PZ, I get what MSI was trying to do. To make a more affordable version of the MEG Maestro 700L PZ. And while they did that, I feel like the MAG Pano 120R PZ is a bit over-engineered and the build process is a bit annoying.

The big I really see is that the many of the components of this case take multiple screws to remove. 4 for the hard drive cage, six for the GPU support bracket, and so on. This just gets annoying when you are doing your installation or even swapping out parts. On top of that the style of GPU support bracket used here really blocks the front view of your graphics card. For being such a large case I was surprised to see support for only 3 hard drives, and only one of those is a 2.5-inch drive. While it was great that all the fans were pre-wired to the controller, its location makes it really hard to access and the mess a wiring down there was a bit disappointing to see.

That being said I do think they case looks amazing, especially with the seven included ARGB fans. These fans are pre-wired to a controller as well as to a LED button on the front of the case so you can easily cycle through colors and effects without any software. You can of course pass-through the ARGB signal to your motherboard for software control. With seven included ARGB fans this case is ready to go out of the box too, no need to buy anything else. The ability to see all of these fans is of course made possible because of the large single-piece curved glass panel that MSI is using here. There are not many cases that have a curved panel like this.

Internally you do have support for E-ATX motherboards, back-connect motherboards, large graphics cards, full-size power supplies, and 360mm radiators. Performance of the cases was quite good too with temperatures in check and all of the fans were not too loud at all.

If you are looking for a real show-stopper of a case with a unique curved panel and seven included ARGB fans, the MAG Pano 120R PZ might be perfect thing for you. Just be aware of some of the drawbacks. If you wanted a case that has a similar look (no curved panel), but a bit more functionality and ease of use I can totally recommend the MAG Pano 100L PZ. Right now you can pick up the MAG Pano 120R PZ at our favorite online retailer for $187.99, which is a good price considering you are getting all of those pre-wired ARGB fans and the controller. Overall ThinkComputers gives the MSI MAG Pano 120R PZ PC Case a 7 out of 10 score.
