When someone tells me they are looking for a high performance air cooler for their CPU my answer is always Noctua. The Austrian cooling company has certainly made a name for themselves over the years, Noctua coolers have consistently topped our charts. They have also stood out from other coolers with their iconic brown fans. Needless to say if you were purchasing a Noctua cooler in the past it was likely not going to match the rest of your build. Well that all changed when they introduced chromax.black versions of some of their popular coolers. chromax.black is what you would expect, an all black CPU cooler. This allows the coolers to match you build and look pretty great doing it. Today we will be taking a look at Noctua’s flagship NH-D15 chromax.black which is a dual-tower, dual-fan cooler, and definitely one of the largest coolers out there. Let’s take a look and see what it can do!
Special thanks to Noctua for providing us with the NH-D15 chromax.black CPU Cooler to review.
Noctua always does a great job with their packaging and the NH-D15 chromax.black is no different. On the front there is a picture of the cooler and on the black there many of the features are detailed.
The sides of the box are also adorned with information like a full list of specifications for the cooler as well as the fans.
Opening the box up everything comes in its own box which I love. So we have the cooler in one box, the second fan in another box, and finally all of your mounting hardware and accessories in another box.
