The upcoming 12GB variant of NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 will feature 8960 CUDA cores and perform 20% faster in ETH crypto mining than the 10GB variant.
Along with showing a better performance in mining (as depicted by official LHR figures: 52 MH/s in comparison with 43 MH/s), the 12GB card will also feature a wider 384-bit memory bus. Though unclear before, it is now confirmed that the RTX 3080 12GB variant will consist of 8960 CUDAs, 256 more cores than the 10GB variant.
The RTX 3080 12GB will feature 340-350W TDP, almost the same as RTX 3080 Ti which has the same memory configuration and even more cores. There is no mention of the clock speed of this variant yet so we can assume that it is the same as that of 10GB’s SKU. But nothing can be said for sure.
The RTX 3080 12GB is expected to launch in mid or late January.
