NVIDIA might add two new graphics cards to its RTX 30 series soon. Sources are confident that 3080 20GB and 3070 16GB might be launched in December hece if you were planning to buy a high-end GPU, you might want to wait till then.
No specific reason for abandoning the plan to launch RTX 3070 Ti with 6144 CUDA cores is given. The upcoming RTX 3080 20GB(double the memory of RTX 3080 launched last month) will be based on 320-bit wide GDDR6X memory interface, using two 8 Gbit memory chips per 32-bit path. The RTX 3070 8GB will be upgraded to 16GB and it will also use a similar approach as the RTX 3080 but will be based on a GDDR6 memory interface.
As for the mid-range series, the launch of RTX 3060 Ti has been delayed until November.
As an answer to AMD’s Radeon RX 6000 RDNA2 series in late October, NVIDIA is planning to launch SKUs with higher memories in December. As per the information gathered, AMD is ready with three SKUs based on Navi 21 featuring 16GB memory.
NVIDIA may change its plan again, once information about Navi 21 is available.
