NZXT GRID+ V2 Fan Controller Review

NZXT GRID+ V2 Fan Controller Overview
Cutting the seals and opening the top of the box we find the fan hub and all accessories in a clear plastic tray. Also included is a large semi colored manual. If we take the parts out of the tray we get the controller itself, a micro USB to USB header cable, two two-way fan splitters (one three pin and one four pin on each), a power cable with molex connector, a handful of zip ties, and lastly two 3M Dual Lock velcro pieces.

The Grid+ V2 is a small matte black plastic unit that is 73mm square and 18mm thick. It’ really quite compact and thin and I feel that most users would have no trouble finding a location to install the unit even in the most cramped of cases. The front features a stamped Grid+ logo and an led inset on the bottom left. Opposite on the back we find a stamped NZXT. logo and three Phillips head screws that can be removed to access the inside of the case.

All of the fan connectors and ports are located around the sides of the hub. We find both the power and micro USB connectors on the bottom side. Rotating clockwise we find three of the six fan connectors. Unlike the previous version, while these are still three pin connectors NZXT has machined enough space to directly connect a four pin fan connector. This is a major improvement that makes the hub universally usable.

Continuing clockwise we find venting for the internals of the hub. This is a good sign for longevity as the hub is likely to get warm especially if running fans at high speeds for many hours. Finally one last clockwise twist brings us to the final three fan connectors.
