NZXT HALE90 750W Power Supply Review

Final Thoughts
It is great to see NZXT get back in to the power supply market. Unlike many companies that try to make a ton of different products to sell things and come out with garbage products NZXT is not one of them. The HALE90 is definitely a power supply when you are considering upgrading.

First this power supply is 80PLUS Gold Certified meaning it will run at least 87% efficient between 20% and 100% load and 90% efficient at 50% load. 80PLUS Gold is pretty much the highest efficiency rating a power supply can get besides the Platinum rating, but only 3 power supply hold that honor. The single 12V rail design works very well as we saw in our testing. The 12V rail did not fluctuate at all, which is very impressive. Also none of the rails undervolted. The 140mm fan operated very quiet and you could barely hear it.

As far as design goes the NZXT has set themselves apart with the all white design. You are not going to find many all white power supplies out there. The modular cables do make installing the power supply a lot easier since you only use the cables you need. NZXT has gone with the flat cable design works well especially if you want to route the cables on the backside of your motherboard tray, but at the same time they do not add much style. There are more than enough connectors on this power supply to power most configurations up to 750W.

Right now this power supply sells for $159.99 at my favorite online retailer. This price seems about right considering the Corsair AX750 sells for $169.99 and the SeaSonic X750 sells for $179.99. Both of which are 80PLUS Gold Certified 750W power supplies. Also keep in mind NZXT offers this power supply in 550W, 650W, 850W and 1000W configurations. Overall ThinkComputers gives the NZXT HALE90 750W Power Supply a 10 out of 10 score and our Recommended Award!
