Patriot PXD Portable Solid State Drive Review

Final Thoughts

The Patriot PXD Portable Solid State Drive is much like many of the other USB 3.2 gen 2 drives that we’ve tested over the past couple of months. It is going to give you around 1000 MB/s transfer speeds for both read and write, which is very impressive. That means this drive can easily be used for a mobile video editing / photo editing drive, a mobile game drive, or just a media drive.

The fact that the drive is so small really makes it portable. Patriot has gone with a longer and thinner “candybar” design, which makes the drive one of the most pocketable drives we’ve tested this year. It will easily slide in a pocket and will definitely fit in a small laptop bag or even a small pocket in a sleeve. The Type-C connection makes connecting the included cable simple too. Don’t worry if you don’t have a Type-C connection, Patriot includes a Type-C to Type-A cable with the drive.

Right now this drive is selling at our favorite online retailer for $380.99, which puts it in line with other USB 3.2 gen 2 portable solid state drives. Overall ThinkComputers give the Patriot PXD Portable Solid State Drive a 9 out of 10 score.
