Philips ActionFit ST702 Wireless Earbuds Overview
The Philips ActionFit ST702’s are your typical earbuds. Picking them up for the first time they have some decent weight to them, which is typically a good thing when it comes to audio products. The earbuds have a glossy black face with their body being more of a dark grey. Each earbud features a 6mm neodymium magnet (NdFeB) drivers.
Talking about sound the earbuds have a closed acoustic system, which means that no sound will leak out of them. While this are not noise-cancelling earbuds, when wearing them you should be one with your music and outside distractions should not bother you. One of the main features of these earbuds is that they have an IPX5 soak proof rating. That means you can sweat all over them and not worry about anything, hell you can even wear them in the shower!
Since these are sports earbuds you have wing tips on each. These will help keep the earbuds in your ears, even during the most intense workouts. Now if for some reason you don’t like the wing tips they are removable, which makes them replaceable I assume too. On the underside of each earbud you have a denotation of “L” or “R” for left or right and two small contacts for the charging case.
On the face of each earbud is the Philips logo, but you also have a activity ring, which will light up and indicate if they are paired, etc. There is a small microphone on each earbud, so you can take calls with these too! The face of each earbud is also a touch-sensitive button, more on that later!
The charging case that comes with the earbuds is designed as a cylinder and is not all that large. It is pocketable, but will give you a decent bulge in your pants. On one end of the charging case you have a MicroUSB connection for charging a two sets of LEDs. The smaller LEDs indicate charging level, while the larger LED indicates UV cleaning. Yes these earbuds have UV cleaning! This is great, especially for the times we live in now. Basically each time you put the earbuds in the case and close it UV cleaning will start (indicated by the big white LED lighting up), it will run for 20 seconds.
The charging case opens from the right you slide the tray out where you can easily place the earbuds. The earbuds by themselves will give you 6 hours of talk time or music playback, but have a fully charged case with you and that will go up to 18 hours. We are not clear how large the battery is in the charging case itself. The earbuds also have a quick charge feature, in just 15 minutes of charging you will get 1.5 hours of play time.
