Radeon RX 7900 XTX “Phoenix Nirvana” Graphics Card Teased By XFX

XFX China is gearing up for the release of a fresh graphics card dubbed “Phoenix Nirvana.” This upcoming model is yet to be unveiled but is expected to hit the market soon. The company has initiated a preorder page, offering early access to a limited number of gamers with an extra discount. While the product hasn’t been fully revealed, participating in the preorder might not be advisable.

Only a handful of renders are accessible, none of which provide a comprehensive view of the card, but we can speculate reasonably. Firstly, it appears to feature a triple-fan cooling system and boasts dimensions of 34.6 cm in length, indicating its substantial size. The card measures 13.2 cm in width and stands 6.8 cm tall, suggesting a 3.5-slot design.

It comes outfitted with three 8-pin power connectors and demands an 850W power supply for operation. Beneath, there’s a sizable heatsink featuring eight 6mm heat pipes and an extensive dissipating area measuring 10,603,980 mm2 (216 fins). Thus, the cooler is notably large and includes a substantial base plate, likely housing a vapor chamber for the GPU and memory. The company even asserts the inclusion of premium thermal pads with enhanced conductivity, a feature seldom highlighted in GPU marketing materials.

Regarding GPU specifications, the card will be equipped with identical clock speeds as the Speedster Merc 319, boasting a 2615 MHz boost clock. This clock speed, while not the highest available on the market, suggests untapped potential, particularly considering the thicker design of this model.

Regarding pricing, the card is listed at an official retail price of 7899 RMB (1,090 USD), with a 100 RMB discount available for preorders. This pricing appears steep compared to the RX 7900 XTX, which retails at 7499 RMB, even lower than the MERC 319.
