Redesigned M1X Mac mini With Additional Ports Expected to Launch Later This Year

Most of the Apple product lineup is due for a redesign and a switch to its custom silicon. Apple is expected to host several events in September to announce products like iPhone 13, Apple Watch Series 7, etc. New speculation states that Apple can announce its updated M1X Mac mini in the “next several months.”

Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman made this speculation in his latest Power On newsletter. He wrote that Apple is expected to launch its high-end M1X Mac mini with a new design and additional ports in the next several months. Do consider that Apple’s redesigned 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro models are expected to arrive later in 2021. Although there isn’t a specific date, there is a chance that Apple may host a dedicated event for its Mac lineup.

The redesigned M1X Mac mini will replace its Intel variant. Previously Jon Prosser shared leaks of the M1X Mac Mini regarding its design. As per the leaks, the M1X Mac mini’s top will be based on a “plexiglass” type of material along with a magnetic power port. Moreover, it will have an ample amount of ports for accessories.

As stated previously, Apple will introduce a major design change in almost all of its product lineup. This means that iPhone 13 models will feature a higher refresh rate with a smaller notch and various camera upgrades. It is expected that the Apple Watch Series 7 will have a flat-edged design and new screen technology. A design change is planned for the iPad mini 6. It will also have a faster processor and will offer Apple Pencil support too.
