Sabrent NVMe M.2 to PCI-Express Adapter Card Review

Final Thoughts

I love little devices like this and it is good to see Sabrent come out with one as they are really making a name for themselves in the M.2 NVMe drive world. We absolutely loved their Rocket Q drive and this nifty little adapter allows you to take full advantage of it if you are out of M.2 slots on your motherboard or even if your board does not have a PCI-Express M.2 slot. Remember this adapter works in any PCI-Express 3.0 x4 or above slot. So it is the perfect thing if you are debating between a SATA drive and an M.2 NVMe drive as you definitely want to be able to take advantage of the faster NVMe speeds.

Beyond just being an adapter the card also features a heatsink so it is going to keep your drive nice and cool. If you happen to have a drive that overheats and throttles this should mitigate that. It did for us with the Lexar NM700. Not using the adapter it reached a temperature of 89C during load, but with the adapter the max temperature was only 60C! What a difference!

Right now you can pick up this adapter at our favorite online retailer for $17.99! At that price it really is a no-brainer! Overall ThinkComputers gives the Sabrent NVMe M.2 to PCI-Express Adapter Card a 10 out of 10 score and our Recommended Award!
