SC-MX20E Digital Camcorder Overview
Since this is an all digital camcorder that does not record to tapes it is very small. With the dimensions of only 4.9″ x 2.6″ x 2.4″ and weighing in at 0.6lbs it something that would be very easy to carry around with you. Although it is not small enough that it will fit in your pocket or anything like that. As far as style goes Samsung has gone with a black / silver motif although this camcorder is available in other colors as well.
Starting towards the back of the camera you have a zoom in and zoom out button, a mode button that will switch between recording and playback modes, a large record button and a power slider. There is also a small compartment that opens up to reveal an A/V out connection, miniUSB connection, and power connection.
On the bottom of the camera you have the dock connection, tripod connector, and another larger compartment. Inside of the larger compartment you do have a spot for the battery and a SDHC card or MMC Plus card. Remember this camera does have 16GB of built-in memory.
The 2.7-inch LCD display easily opens up from the side of the camera. On the actual pull out part you have a directional pad, menu button and a record button. The on the camera itself you also have a small speaker for playback, icheck button, Easy Q button, and a LCD enhancer button.
On the front of the camera you have your lens which is a Schneider Kreuznach. This lens provides a 34x optical zoom, which means you can get very close shots of things from far away. Around the lens you have your microphone, which is a great placement for it. Also towards the front there is a small slider that will open and close the lens cover. Finally on the left side of the camera is the handgrip that makes it easy to handle the camera, it even rotates.
I recently looked at this very camera in Best Buy and I'm sorry to say that this thing is nothing more than a glorified “Webbie” camera with okay zoom. Samsung started this line with the intention of stealing the small camcorder market away from Sony and FLIP but it's not successful. the Webbie HD (MHS-CM1/D) line from Sony shoots a better picture with less cost involved. It's also just as easy to use and capture video from the camera to your computer. Now if you're looking for a more featured filled camera you can drop another $25 and buy from JVC's small hand-held line (Everio GZ-MS120A). This is what i ended up purchasing.` If i want a pocket cam, I'll buy one. If i want a consumer featured camcorder, I'll buy one. Neither of which would be this camcorder
ALSO *Con: No light on camcorder head.

At first, I ever interested in this model but finally I decided to buy the SMX-F34. Without question, budget conscious video enthusiasts and YouTubers will enjoy all the bells and whistles of this outstanding camcorder.
