Sapphire Announces Radeon RX 7900 XT Nitro Without Vapor Chamber For $900

Sapphire China launched a new card over the weekend, named “RX7900XT 20G Ultra Platinum L”. It is a variant of the existing RX 7900 XT NITRO+ Vapor-X GPU that has been available on the market for several months. However, this new card is primarily intended to be more affordable.

One notable difference is the absence of a secondary RGB strip. The strip facing the motherboard does not emit any light. Additionally, the company has confirmed that the more affordable NITRO card will not feature a vapor chamber, which is why it is not labeled as ‘Vapor-X’. Instead, the company has chosen to use a copper base, which is less thermally efficient but more cost-effective to produce.

Based on the information provided by the retailer listing, there are changes in the clock speeds. The boost clock of this NITRO card is 2450 MHz, which is lower than the 2560 MHz boost of the NITRO+ Vapor-X model. As a result, it shares the same specifications as the RX 7900 XT PULSE. However, the card maintains the same board design, featuring three 8-pin power connectors, and it should still offer support for three BIOS settings.

Sapphire has set the price for the new NITRO card at 6299 RMB (~898 USD), making it 500 RMB less expensive than the Vapor-X edition. While this price is not the lowest available for the RX 7900 XT in China, it is still lower than the official AMD MSRP for this card, which is 7399 RMB.
