Scythe Ninja 5 CPU Cooler Review

Final Thoughts
The Scythe Ninja 5 is definitely the largest CPU cooler we’ve reviewed in 2018! With that it offers some pretty amazing performance too! In our load testing it was 6 degrees cooler than any other cooler in our test group! Even more impressive is just how quiet the cooler is, even when we put full load on our test system. This is thanks to Kaze Flex 120 mm fans, which run at a max speed of 800 RPM.

Being so large you would think that the Ninja 5 would be extremely hard to install, but it was actually one of the easiest install’s we’ve done on our AM4 test system. This is thanks to Scythe’s Hyper Precision mounting system.

With a cooler this size there are definitely some things you’ll need to consider. First it is 155 mm tall, which could case some issues in certain cases. Also the front fan on the cooler will cover all 4 memory slots on your motherboard, so if you planned on showing off your RGB memory it is going to be covered.

Right now you can pick up this cooler at our favorite online retailer for $59.99, which is a great price considering the other “big boy” air CPU coolers are $20 to $30 more. Overall ThinkComputers gives the Scythe Ninja 5 CPU Cooler a 9 out of 10 score.
