T-Force Dark Z DDR4 3600 MHz Memory Review

T-Force Dark Z DDR4 3600

Team Group’s T-Force Dark Z DDR4 memory is your standard 288-pin unbuffered non-ECC memory. Vulcan Z memory comes in four speeds. These speeds include 2666 MHz, 3000 MHz, 3200 MHz, and 3600 MHz. The 3600 MHz kit being the focus of this review. Both the 3000 MHz and 3200 MHz kits have a CAS Latency of 16 and the 2666 MHz kit comes in both CAS 15 and CAS 16. The 3600 MHz kit has a CAS latency of 18. The data transfer bandwidth of the 3600 MHz Vulcan Z kit is 28,800 MB/s (PC4 28800). The 3600 MHz kit runs at 1.35 volts, as does the 3000 and 3200 MHz kits. However, the 2666 MHz kit runs at only 1.2 volts. Timings of the 3600 MHz kit are advertised at 18-22-22-42. Team Group’s Dark Z memory is backed by a lifetime warranty.

The T-Force Dark Z DDR4 comes in several different capacities. These capacities include 8GB, 16GB, 32GB, 8GBx2, 16GBx2and 32GBx2. The T-Force Dark Z memory measures 43.5 mm in height, 141 mm in length, and 3 mm in width. The heat spreader on Team Group’s Dark Z DDR4 is aluminum and comes in two colors, gray and red. The kit we received came in gray.

The aluminum heat spreader on the Dark Z memory has the T-Force Dark Z logo in the center of the heat spreader. When looking at the DIMM, the Dark Z branding is on the bottom right-hand corner. Looking at the Dark Z DIIMM from a top-down view, you can see the T-Force logo in the center of the heat spreader. On either side of the T-Force logo, there are a few cutouts on the heat spreader that help to dissipate heat.

Dark Z DDR4 PCB

When reviewing memory, we like to get a closer look at the PCB. SO, we removed the heat spreader to get a better look. To do so, we need to slowly peel back the heat spreader on either side or at lease the side where the memory modules are. On the inside of the heat spreader, you’ll find the very sticky thermal tape that affixes the heat spreader to the PCB.

The T-Force Dark Z 3600 MHz kit has eight memory modules per DIMM. The numbers on the memory modules are T4D10248HT-36. These are Hynix modules that are privately branded for Team Group. Each module is 1 GB of DDR4 memory.
