Fractal Design Era ITX Case Review

ITX cases are nothing new, we’ve seen them for a good while now, but the really small and unique ITX cases are becoming extremely popular. These are typically sold as kits and are only available in small quantities. With these kits becoming increasingly popular major case manufactures are taking notice and releasing their own small ITX cases. We saw NZXT with their 13.6 L H1 and now we have Fractal Design with their Era ITX. The Era ITX is a 16 L case with a very unique design with aluminum panels and available in 5 different colors. It has support for graphics cards up to 295 mm, SFX or ATX power supplies, and even a 240 mm radiator. Is this the new ITX case to get? Read on as we find out!

Special thanks to Fractal Design for providing us with the Era ITX Case to review.

Packaging

The Era ITX comes in standard case box with a picture of the case on the front. It does let us know the color of the case, which in our case is gold. Flipping over to the back there is an exploded view of the case and some of the main features are listed.

Opening the case up inside you’ll find a large accessories box. Inside that box is your user’s guide, installation screws, a glass top panel, and mesh top panel. It is great to see Fractal Design continue the trend of including both a glass and mesh top with their cases.

The case inside the box is nicely protected by large pieces of Styrofoam and wrapped in a bag to prevent scratching.
