Silverstone FARA B1 Mid-Tower Case Review

We all love massive full tower cases that can be packed to the brim with hardware and water cooling. But the fact is not all of us have the room for the likes of a 1000d or an SMA-8, nor can many of us afford the aforementioned cases. Most enthusiasts and gamers don’t require bulky and expensive cases. But this doesn’t mean we should have to sacrifice features like aesthetics or airflow, and Silverstone agrees. Introducing the Fara B1 mid-tower case from Silverstone.

The Fara B1 from Silverstone is a light-weight, compact mid-tower case. The Fara B1 ticks all the boxes you’d expect from a mid-tower case with ample cooling options for fans or radiations, support for up to 4 2.5″ drives, and a tinted tempered glass side panel. But listing features is one thing. The Fara B1 is designed with airflow in mind with what Silverstone calls an “aggressive air-intake design.” But we all know the important questions when it comes to a case. How is it to build in and how is the airflow? So we set out to answer those very questions. Now let’s get into the review.

We’d like to thank Silverstone for providing us with the Fara B1 for review.

Packaging

Silverstone Fara B1 box

The Silverstone Fara B1 comes in a relatively plain cardboard box. The box has the Silverstone logo printed on the top left-hand corner, with a depiction of the front of the Fara B1 below the Silverstone logo. To the right of the logo is the Fara B1 product branding. The back of the box is a mirror image of the front.

The Silverstone Fara B1 comes wrapped in plastic and set in hard styrofoam. I’m generally not a fan of hard foam as it makes a mess when damaged. However, the foam in the packaging was not damaged. This tells me that the case was handled properly during shipping.
