AMD Ryzen Shipping Date Surfaces

A Reddit user has brought to our attention that AMD's upcoming Ryzen processors have appeared for pre-order through AMD Shangai's official Taobao channel. As always we tell you to take this with a grain of salt. The chip here is listed at ¥1999.00 (roughly $295), the process is listed at 14nm, and the CPU frequency is at 4.2 GHz.

AMD Ryzen + Vega Shown Off At CES

At CES 2017 AMD was not shying away from showing off both Ryzen or Vega. At a press event they had a system running the Ryzen CPU with their upcoming Vega GPU. The demo they had setup was running Star Wars Battlefront at 4K UHD resolution with the settings maxed out! The system was getting a solid 60 frames per second as we played through the game. We do know that this was the 8-core, 16-thread Ryzen chip running at 3.4 GHz. All we know about the GPU was that it was based on the Vega architecture.

AMD Ryzen Reportedly Overclocks to 5 GHz On Air

CANARD PC HARDWARE, a French hardware magazine has confirmed through and Easter Egg hidden on their Ryzen feature that the chip is able to achieve overclocks of at least 5GHz on air. On page 10 of the digital magazine as well as the physical version, a code of 1's and 0's or binary code can be found on the top of the page.

Motherboard Makers Optimistic about High Price-Performance Ratio of AMD Ryzen

It is expected that AMD Ryzen, the high performance processor based on AMD's "Zen" micro-architecture, will increase AMD's overall market-share of the desktop CPU market in Q2-2017. This is according to sources from motherboard manufacturers, in a report by DigiTimes. In the report it says that motherboard manufacturers are "optimistic about [Ryzen's] high price/performance ratio," which is prompting them to ramp up orders of motherboards for the new platform.
