The Ryzen 5000 series products are available in the laptop market but it has made no presence in the mini PC segment. Luckily, the news about Cezanne’ based Mini-PCs have started to surface.
The computer manufacturers, Morefine Focus and Minisforum, have announced the next-gen AMD Ryzen 5000 series based Mini-PCs.
The MoreFine S500+ MiniPC is based on the high-end Ryzen 9 5900HX. The unlocked processor has 8-cores and 16-threads, which allows it to achieve a boost clock speed of up to 4.6 GHz. Morefine offers two M.2 2280 SATA/NVMe drivers and additionally a single 2.5 inch HDD or SATA drive for storage. Please note that Morefine has incorrectly listed the “4-core 16-thread’ configuration on the Indiegogo website.
The mini PC can house up to 32GB DDR4-3200 RAM or LPDDR4 with up to 4266 MT/s. As far as the connectivity is concerned, it has Wifi-6, Bluetooth 5.0, a DisplayPort 1.4, HDMI 2.0 outputs, and dual RJ45 connectors (one supports 2.5 Gbit).
On the other hand, the Minisforum team’s teaser shows a slightly larger device equipped with AMD Ryzen APU. The capacitor layout indicates Renoir series , but the processor SKU label clearly lists ‘X,’ which suggests that the device might be powered by Cezanne silicon.
None of the manufacturers have officially confirmed the price yet.
Update:
VideoCardz has received a confirmation from Minisforum stating that they are indeed working on 5900HX based MiniPC.
