Take-Two Interactive Confirms GTA 6 Release Window

It’s been over a decade since Grand Theft Auto V launched, and now we’ve received confirmation that the next title, GTA 6, might arrive sooner than expected. Take-Two Interactive has announced the game’s release window.

Those rumors began in March this year, with reports suggesting concerns that the GTA 6 release date might slip into the next year, rather than the originally announced 2025. Considering the high anticipation for GTA 6, this could have been devastating for its fanbase, as it would mean a staggering 13-year wait between games.

In a financial report detailing the results for the last quarter and the 2023/2024 fiscal year, Take-Two Interactive confirmed that GTA 6 will be released in the fall of 2025. Although this suggests a potential delay from the previously rumored early 2025 release window, it means that fans can expect to get their hands on the next title sooner than 2026.

Unfortunately for PC gamers, there is no mention of a planned release on their preferred platform. This release window only pertains to the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S consoles, implying that those who game exclusively on PC might have to wait. Considering that Grand Theft Auto V took an additional 18 months to arrive on PC, a similar delay for GTA 6 is possible.

Our outlook reflects a narrowing of Rockstar Games’ previously established window of Calendar 2025 to Fall of Calendar 2025 for Grand Theft Auto VI,” Take-Two Interactive says in the financial statement. “We are highly confident that Rockstar Games will deliver an unparalleled entertainment experience, and our expectations for the commercial impact of the title continue to increase.”
