Team Group EX2 Elite Solid State Drive Review

Testing – CrystalDiskMark and AS SSD

CrystalDiskMark 7

CrystalDiskMark is a quick, simple test that gives you a variety of results. For testing the EX2 Elite SSD, we used CrystalDiskMark 7. CrystalDiskMark gives you both sequential read and write results. CrystalDiskMark also gives 512k and 4k random read and write results. In CrystalDiskMark 7, our EX2 Elite SSD gave a sequential read speed of 554.39 MB/s and a sequential write speed of 508.73 MB/s.

AS SSD

AS SSD Benchmark is a simple and portable utility which helps you measure the effectiveness and performance of any solid-state (SSD) drives connected to your system. It will test “Seq”, “4K”, “4K-64Thrd” and Access Time. In the end, it will give your SSD a score. 4K tests the read/write abilities by access random 4K blocks while the Sequential test measures how fast the drive can read a 1GB file. For AS SSD, we ran the SSD Benchmark, the Copy Benchmark, and the Compression Benchmark. We first ran the SSD benchmark on our 512 GB EX2 Elite SSD. In the SSD benchmark, our EX2 Elite SSD achieved a sequential read speed of 525.22 MB/s and a sequential write speed of 471.66 MB/sAS SSD EX2 Elite SSD

The next test is the AS SSD Copy Benchmark. The Copy Benchmark in AS SSD tests the copy speed and duration of three types of files; an ISO file, a Program files, and a Game file. For the AS SSD Copy Benchmark, our EX2 Elite SSD copied an ISO file in 1.24 seconds at a speed of 869.45 MB/s. For the Program file, the EX2 Elite SSD copied the file in 1.76 seconds at a speed of799.99 MB.s. The last file tested was the Game file which took our EX2 Elite SSD .63 seconds to copy at a speed of 2178.42 MB/s. Our EX2 Elite SSD did best by far on the Game file in the AS SSD Copy Benchmark. ex2 elite ssd as ssd coppy benchmark

The final test in AS SSD is the compression test. the graph below shows the compression results for our 512 GB EX2 Elite SSD. From the graph, we can see the top line that represents the read compression stayed very consistent throughout the test. However, the line that represents the write compression results is far less consistent than the read results.
