TecToy Announces Zeenix Lite And Zeenix Pro Gaming Handhelds With Athlon And Ryzen APUs

Brazilian company TecToy is reviving its gaming division and has unveiled new gaming hardware.

The company introduced two gaming handhelds running Windows 11. Although these devices are marketed mainly for gaming, they are also designed for work, school, and video streaming. However, for the latter, a modern high-end phone might be more convenient, as both systems feature a 6-inch 1080p screen, which is not the largest available.

The handhelds, named Zeenix, come in two versions: Zeenix Lite and Zeenix Pro. The key differences between them lie in the APU, memory, and storage. The Lite model features an Athlon 3050E, an older dual-core CPU with Zen cores (codenamed Dali). It includes integrated Radeon RX Vega 3 graphics (3 CUs), which is insufficient for 3D gaming but should handle retro games adequately.

The Pro version, however, is equipped with the significantly more powerful Ryzen 7 6800U processor, an 8-core Zen3+ APU with 12 RDNA2 Compute Units. Although it isn’t as fast as the latest Phoenix/Hawk Point variants because of its older graphics architecture, it still handles games well at low resolutions. On a 6-inch screen, the difference between 720p FSR and native 1080p will be hardly noticeable.

Both systems will come preinstalled with Windows 11 Home and will support either WiFi 5 or WiFi 6, depending on the model. The company has not yet announced a release date or pricing, but they will be participating in Gamescom LATAM, starting later this week, where more information is expected to be revealed.
