Thermaltake Core P6 TG Case Review

A Look Inside

Removing the main side panel we can look at the interior layout of the case. Since we have the white version of the case the interior is all white, but the expansion slot covers and cable routing hole inserts are black. The overall design of the interior is pretty basic. As far as motherboard support the Core P6 TG supports 6.7” x 6.7” (Mini ITX), 9.6” x 9.6” (Micro ATX), 12” x 9.6” (ATX), 12” x 10.5”(CEB) motherboards. There are plenty of cable routing holes around the motherboard tray, with the two large ones having rubber inserts.

Towards the front of the case we have our two cooling brackets. We already went over the one on the front of the case, but the interior bracket also supports up to two three 120 mm fans and radiators up to 360 mm. The front cooling bracket can also be fully removed from the case for easier installation of fans / radiators. Also in the front area of the case is a bracket that is made to hold either a reservoir or pump, but you can also mount a 2.5-inch drive on it. It is held into place so you can remove it if you don’t plan on using it.

There is a power supply shroud that extends half the length of the case. The interesting thing about it is that it is lifted off the bottom of the case. This allows for you to still install fans below your power supply as the bottom of the case also supports three 120 mm fans. The shroud also has a vertical GPU mounting bar and two 2.5-inch drive mounts.

The rear side panel is held into place by six captive screws. Once removed we remove the side panel we can see that it does have a magnetic filter over the ventilation holes.

The back compartment of the case houses two hard drive mounting brackets, each supports three 2.5-inch drives or two 3.5-inch drives. Each of these brackets are removeable so you can easily install your drives. Between the two brackets is the VESA mounting plate which has holes for 200×100, 100×100, and 75×75.

The bottom section of the back compartment is really meant to hide / route your cables.
