Thermaltake Core P6 TG Case Review

Final Thoughts

I really like what Thermaltake has done with the Core P6 TG. While the Core P5 was really made to be an open-air chassis, the Core P6 TG is more of a traditional case. Slapping 4mm-thick tempered glass on 3 sides of the case really allows you to show off everything inside of your build. This definitely is one sleek case and has the high-end feel to it.

It is also one of the largest cases we’ve taken a look at so far this year! Being so big you have room inside for graphics cards over 400 mm long, motherboards up to 12” x 10.5” (CEB), a load of hard drives, and lots of cooling including three cooling brackets that each support three 120 mm fans or radiators up to 360 mm. If you wanted to do a watercooling build in this case it could easily be done, especially with the included reservoir / pump bracket, but you can also do a pretty awesome air-cooled build too. I was a little bummed that no fans came with this case. I really would have liked to have seen two intake fans and an exhaust fan included with the case, but I get why Thermaltake sells this case without any fans. This allows you to really pick and choose what fans you want and you won’t be stuck in the Thermaltake ecosystem if you don’t want to be.

I didn’t run into a single issue during installation and being such a large case installation was a breeze. Many of the cooling brackets and hard drive mounts are removable so you can easily install your hardware outside of the case. The rear compartment on the case makes it pretty easy to hide all of your cables as well. I was not the biggest fan of the power supply shroud as you could still see your cabling through the tempered glass side panel.

I think at the end of the day if you are looking for a massive case that can support the largest hardware and has lots of cooling options the Thermaltake Core P6 TG is a great case for you. Right now you can pick up this case for $199.99 at our favorite online retailer. Overall ThinkComputers gives the Thermaltake Core P6 TG Case a 9 out of 10 score.
