Tribit StormBox Micro 2 Portable Wireless Speaker Review

Tribit StormBox Micro 2

Taking a first look at the StormBox Micro 2 it has a pretty simple design, which isn’t a bad thing. We have a black mesh top with the Tribit logo in the center and then three large buttons (volume down, multifunction, volume up).

As far as size goes the official dimensions of the StormBox Micro 2 are 99.8mm x 99.8mm x 42.9mm, which makes it basically a 4-inch square device that is about 1.55-inches thick. While you can throw it in your pocket you’ll have quite the bulge, it can easily fit in a jacket pocket though.

On the front of the device we have some buttons an indication LEDs. There is a Bluetooth pairing button, LEDs to show batter level and Bluetooth connectivity, a power button, and a small microphone for voice commands. On the side of the speaker is a USB-C connection that you can use to charge the speaker, but also can be used to charge devices you connect to the speaker. Having a built-in battery is definitely nice as you only need to bring this speaker with you, not a speaker plus a portable battery.

The bottom of the speaker has four small rubber feet that will keep it in place wherever you happen to place it. Here is also where you’ll find the rubber strap.
This allows you to connect the speaker around basically anything that will fit the strap, so handlebars of a bike, a strap of a backpack, even a tree branch! Now this strap locks into place with a notch at the end. While this does feel pretty secure, don’t expect it to be like a GoPro mount.
