WD My Passport Ultra Metal Edition Overview
Taking the drive out of the package you can see that we received the blue version. It also comes in silver and gold metal versions. The drive is very small with official dimensions of 110 mm x 13.5 mm x 80mm (HxDxW). This means it is very easy to carry with you or throw in a laptop bag or backpack.
The metallic design of the unit is just great! The aluminum goes all around the drive except for the bottom of the drive. On the top of the drive you will find a WD My Passport Ultra logo.
The bottom part of the drive is made of heavy plastic. There are no rubber feet or anything like that on the bottom of the drive.
On the end of the drive you will find the only connection the drive has which is the USB 3.0 micro B connection. This connection will provide power and data transfer to the drive. There is also a small activity LED on this side of the drive.
The review was excellent Bob, I have been using WD for many years, with external and internal, I have recently switched over to SSD now that the prices have fallen so drastically, and my need for storage next to some of you guys is minimal, I max out at about 5 Tbs and back it all up into Cloud storage. When WD came out with their metal Anniversary Edition, it was unique enough to purchase, and yes I am into asthetics LOL.
