2020 iMac Benchmarks Are Out

Apple launched the new 27-inch iMac at the beginning of this week. The new iMac received a significant hardware upgrade but without any cosmetic change. The new benchmarks show improved performance as compared to previous iMac. The benchmark indicates the processor and the graphics card powering the new iMac. The 27-inch iMac houses the 10th Gen Core-i5 processor paired with Radeon Pro 5300 graphics.

The interesting part is that the previous iMac had a Core i5 processor clocked at 3.7Ghz while the Intel Core i5 processor used in the 2020 iMac is clocked at 3.1Ghz. A 20% difference in performance was noted between the two iMac models.

The new iMac scored 1090 in the single-core test while 5688 was observed in the Geekbench multi-core test. Apple has claimed 65% improved performance in the new 2020 iMac. An improvement in the graphics is also promised. A 40 per cent increase has been observed when compared to the Radeon Pro 570X used in the 2019 iMac.
