An upcoming ROG GeForce GPU is on its way, as teased by the official ASUS ROG Gaming social media account. This highly anticipated GeForce RTX 40 graphics card is expected to be the most powerful and fastest GPU ever produced. The teaser image suggests a distinctive design and exceptional performance, marking the beginning of a new era for ROG gaming GPUs. However, the teaser and the information we have gathered so far do not provide confirmation about the specific model being prepared.
ASUS has refrained from introducing a ROG Matrix graphics card and hasn’t provided any updates to the ROG Poseidon line in quite some time. These were previously considered flagship GPUs from ASUS and were typically released separately. However, the ROG STRIX series has now taken over as ASUS’ flagship tier in terms of both performance and pricing. Given this shift, it is highly intriguing to discover what ASUS has in store for us this time around.
The teaser image doesn’t display any visible fans on the front of the card, suggesting the possibility of either a sophisticated AIO liquid cooling system or a new design that incorporates hidden or unused fans.
It’s worth noting that there haven’t been any indications from NVIDIA about the unveiling of a new RTX 40 GPU. Therefore, our expectations lean towards something based on an existing SKU, such as the RTX 4090. ASUS has announced that they will be unveiling the new card on May 30th at 9:30 Taipei time.
Update: ASUS inadvertently confirmed that the upcoming GPU will indeed be the RTX 40 ROG MATRIX.
