Product sales figures play an important role in a company’s success and as for the laptop market, the recently released stats from IDC show that Apple has been the most successful vendor during Q1 2021. Apple achieved this success amidst a pandemic because of an increase in work from home, which led to many people ordering new laptops, and hence Apple shipped around 6.7 million Macs.

The figure is nothing compared to what Lenovo and HP achieve, but Apple has the highest growth any company achieved during the year. During the first quarter of 2020, Apple sold 3.2 million, and the figure has increased by more than a 100%.

It looks like Apple has a strong belief in the phrase, the sky’s the limit, as a tipster claims that Apple might launch two new iMacs with a 12-core custom chipset. Moreover, a new report states that mass production might start in H2 2021. It is said that the upcoming MacBook Pro might feature M1X, a powerful variant of the M1.

After Apple’s success, Qualcomm is also said to be working on a competitor to bring the ARM platform to Windows 10 based notebooks.
