After 6 years, ASRock has revived its iconic OC Formula brand by releasing the Z590 OC Formula, a motherboard for the hardcore overclockers. Nick Shih has designed the motherboard.
The Z590 OC Formula has an LGA 1200 socket which supports both the 10th & 11th, Gen Desktop CPUs. The Dual 8-pin connectors are used to connect the processors and a 16 Phase SPS delivers power using 90A power stages and a high-grade (50A Dr.MOS) MOSFET implementation. It also has a 12-layer server-grade and a low-loss PCB. The motherboard also has two SMD type DIMM slots that can support up to 64 GB RAM at an operating speed of up to 5600 MHz (OC+).
The previous yellow design color has been dropped for a light green design. Besides that, the design also includes several XXL Aluminum heatsinks that feature finned-aluminum arrays. A Nick Shih’s signature is embedded on the I/O plate. The VRMs are also covered with heatsink. Several RGB LEDs are installed under the PCH heatsink.
Since this motherboard is specially made for overclockers, some of its overclocking features include a post status checker, a PCIe on/off switch, a slow mode switch, an LN2 mode switch, & three buttons with LEDs that store Nick Shih’s custom OC profiles for Z590 OC Formula motherboards.
As far as the I/O ports and expansion slots are concerned, the motherboard offers:
2 antenna ports,Optical SPDIF out port,a PS/2 port, 3 USB 3.2 Gen 2 (Type-A) ports, 1 USB 3.2 Gen 2 (Type-C) port, 4 USB 3.2 Gen 1 (Type-A) ports, 2 LAN ports powered by Intel I225-V 2.5G , 1G network controllers, a BIOS flashback , a BIOS selection switch, a Clear CMOS button and a 7.1 channel HD Audio jack. Moreover, 2 internal USB 2.0 and USB 3.2 Gen 1 headers are also provided for front panel connectivity.
