Installation
To start off installation you are going to want to install the backplate on the back of your motherboard. You’ll need to install the metal poles in the appropriate holes and install the locks on them.
Now line up the backplate on the back of your motherboard pushing the poles through the holes in your motherboard. On the other side you’ll take the included screws and install them in the poles, tightening and locking the backplate in place. I actually had to remove two of the pole locks because the cutout in our motherboard tray was not big enough.
Now take the appropriate mounting bars (there are different ones for AMD and Intel) and install them on the base of the cooler. For Intel you’ll want to the ends of the bars to be facing out. At this time you are also going to want to take the sticker off the base of the cooler and install the thermal paste on your CPU.
Now very carefully place the cooler on your CPU lining up the holes in the mounting bars with the screws you used to secure the backplate. Then take the four included nuts and place them on top of the screws and tighten them to secure the cooler. You are definitely going to have to remove your graphics card to use the included tightening tool. It is also going to be a little tight working on those top screws as your VRM heatsinks will get in the way. Now the easiest installation out there, but for most people you’ll only have to do it once.
The last thing you are going to want to do is connect the fan to the CPU cooler header on your motherboard and connect the RGB header to either the controller or RGB header on your motherboard. The controller is pretty simple and small, it has buttons to switch color, mode, and brightness.
With the cooler installed you can see we still have plenty of clearance for our memory modules and graphics card.
