Cooler Master MP860 Dual-Sided RGB Mousepad Review

Usage & Final Thoughts

So I’ve been using the MP860 as my main mousepad for a couple of weeks now and once I started using it I immediately fell in love with it. Previously, I had been using the Corsair MM1000, which is about the same size, but had a hard textured surface. Going from that to the low-friction cloth of the “Speed” surface was a nice change. It just felt more comfortable overall and my mouse just seemed to move better across the surface. I used the “Speed” surface in both daily tasks and gaming (mostly Apex Legends) and I really felt like an entirely different experience compared to the Corsair mousepad. The MP860 is definitely one of the best cloth mousepads I’ve ever used. I think this is because it is thicker and just feels solid, but soft at the same time.

Of course this is not just a cloth mousepad either, if you flip it over you have the “Control” side, which is made of anodized aluminum. After basically falling in love with the “Speed” side I didn’t think that I would like the “Control” side at all, but I was pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed it as well. It has its own unique feel that I think many people will enjoy too. Gaming and doing my daily tasks on this side was effortless and very comfortable. Even if you are not someone who is going to use one side for a specific game and the other for another type of game it is nice being able to switch it up every once in a while. I am someone who always wants to change things up so I like being able to flip the MP860 over to get a different feel when I need it.

As I mentioned the RGB lighting on the mousepad is just a plus, the two surfaces are the real star. But the RGB lighting on the mousepad is great and will definitely add that extra bling to your setup. The control software works great and you can even turn the RGB lighting completely off if you don’t like it. When gaming the RGB lighting was never distracting or anything like that.

Right now the MP860 is selling at our favorite online retailer for $44.99. This is a lot to spend on a mousepad, but this is like having two different RGB mousepads, and I do have to say this is definitely the best and most comfortable mousepad I’ve ever used. Overall ThinkComputers gives the Cooler Master MP860 Dual-Sided RGB mousepad a 9 out of 10 score.
