Cooler Master SK630 Low Profile Keyboard Review

Software & Lights
Cooler Master has grouped all of their software into their “Cooler Master Portal” here you can see what Cooler Master devices you have installed and easily install their control software as well as update their firmware.

When you first bring up the control software for the SK630 it brings you in to the LED tab. Here you can customize the LED lighting on the board. There are quite a lot of different effects to choose from. You can easily select colors as well as the speed of the chosen effect.

The next tab is Macro. Here you can easily record and assign macros. The process is quite easy and you can save as many macros as you like.

ss2

On to the “Key Map” tab. This shows an overview of the keyboard and allows you to reassign keys to either your created macros or another key on the keyboard. Obviously missing here is Windows commands, multimedia controls, or the ability to launch an application.

The last tab is “Profiles”. You have the ability to save up to 4 different profiles for the keyboard and you can import and export settings.

When it comes to the lighting Cooler Master has done a great job on this keyboard. All of the keys illuminate nicely and since you have a floating key design the lights reflect off the bushed aluminum top plate. There is also a small section around the frame of the board that lights up too.
