Final Thoughts
What can I say? I think these Mordor keycaps from Drop and Lord of the Rings are pretty amazing. I’m not the biggest Middle Earth fan out there, but I appreciate what that world has done for fantasy and pop culture, and I think being able to express your fandom with a custom keycap or two is a great way to do so. These handcrafted works of art will pair nicely with any of the existing Lord of the Rings keyboards, but especially the Dark Speech model. And even if you don’t have one of these licensed products, the Cherry MX stem design will let you install one on your own compatible keyboard as well.
Being a pretty niche product, I will say that there is probably a slightly limited audience out there, but I’m sure Drop and the folks over at the Lord of the Rings camp have taken that into consideration. After all, we have already seen multiple keyboards and a previous keycap set from this fantasy world come to market, so this is probably a logical next step. Do be ready to pay a premium for these artisan keycaps however. Coming in at $65 each, you will definitely want to make sure you are set on your choice. Then again, if you are a big fan of the franchise, you might just want to get all three to adorn your keyboard.
