As per a Facebook post, Gigabyte is preparing to launch a particularly exclusive variant of one of its GPU designs. Notably, this card will belong to the Xtreme series, previously recognized solely for its liquid-cooled version, the Xtreme WaterForce. Consequently, the AORUS RTX 4080 SUPER Xtreme Ice will mark the debut of an air-cooled Xtreme model in the series.
Duy Manh, Product and Sales Manager at Gigabyte Vietnam, shared slides from the presentation, adding credibility to this report. Nevertheless, the timing of this announcement is puzzling as it coincides with April Fools’ Day. Despite this, there are multiple slides and even images of a physical GPU, indicating that this might be either an incredibly elaborate prank or, more plausibly, a legitimate new design poised for release soon.
Allegedly, the card features a boost clock reaching up to 2.7 GHz, marking a 150 MHz overclock compared to NVIDIA’s reference specifications. This exceeds the highest boost clock recorded among all identified RTX 4080 SUPER models, currently set at 2670 MHz.
Like the AORUS Master model, the Xtreme graphics card comes with a side display, enabling users to showcase custom content or real-time GPU information.
It has been noted that the graphics card will be part of a special bundle featuring an AORUS Z790X Xtreme Ice motherboard, an AORUS 1000W Platinum PG5 power supply, and an AORUS WaterForce X II Ice 360 water cooling system. Most components in this bundle are expected to be white. Unfortunately, the entire bundle will be limited to 300 units worldwide, with the release anticipated sometime in the second quarter. It seems this won’t come cheap.
