Intel Core i7-8700K To Launch On October 5th

It looks like Intel will be launching their new Coffee Lake desktop CPUs on October 5th, with the flagship Core i7-8700K 6-core, 12-thread processor leading the pack. This released date was revealed via Reddit from some sort of inventory inquiry.

These new Coffee Lake-S series processors will be Intel’s direct response to Ryzen. This will be the first time we will see mainstream 6-core processors as well as budget quad-core processors.

These new chips will require a ‘new’ 1151 socket, which you’ll see on new Z370 motherboard from the likes of ASUS, Gigabyte, MSI, ASRock, etc.
